S.T.A.R.S
Raccoon city had
begun plan called “a bright, 21st century Raccoon city”
with the help of generous funding from Umbrella. Part of the plan
involved the creation of S.T.A.R.S, in 1996. This was a special
team consisting of police, military and civilians alike, all of
whom were experts in their respective fields. The team would
instantly respond to the increasing acts of terrorism, the
numerous acts of organized crime and any other crime too big for
the local police to handle. Composed of two teams, Alpha team and
Bravo team. Each team had a leader, a pilot, a combat expert, a
weapons expert and a medic. Thanks to the funding by Umbrella and
other civilian companies, S.T.A.R.S was able to cooperate and
share resources with the R.P.D., but would also be able to about
independently. Their office was located on the second floor of the
police station, and thanks to the generous funding, it was not
lacking anything. The weapon of choice of S.T.A.R.S members is the
handgun known as the Samurai Edge. The S in the gun’s model
number, M92FS, stands for S.T.A.R.S special.
At the time
of the mansion incident, the total number of stars members was 13,
of these 13 only bravo teams Kevin Dooley was not an actual member
of S.T.A.R.S. he was a special pilot for the R.P.D selected for
the mission. Bravo team had been the first to investigate the
mansion incident, but they were scattered in the forest out side
of the mansion and became separated. A few of the bravo team made
it to the mansion and met up with alpha team. However Rebecca
chambers was the only member who survived. Alpha team didn’t have
as many casualties, 4 members made it home safe (Chris Redfield,
Jill Valentine, Barry Burton and Brad Vickers)
The group
was reduced to a mere five members, and due to this the group was
disbanded shortly after they returned from the mansion. As a
replacement the R.P.D select police force was created.
